LOSS OF BIODIVERSITY:

How biodiversity gets destructed ?

*currently we are experiencing anthrophocene     extinction.

*more changes are made by humans to the nature.

CAUSES OF BIODIVERSITY LOSS:

*Natural cause

*Man made cause

NATURAL CAUSE:

*Climate change , hot and cold cycle of climates

*Forest fire:

                *slash and burn cultivation

*firing the ground in search of deer

                 Horn

                *gender reveal culture by US

                 Citizens

MANMADE CAUSE:

*HUNTING: From ancient till the date

1.Entertainment

2.Pride and prestige

3.For sharpening the skills

4.For the safety of their subjects

*POACHING:

1.Organ trade

2.Tiger skin

3.Tusk of elephant

4.Horn of deer and rhino

Bones of tigers are consumed by chinese People for masculine nature.

*HABITAT LOSS AND FRAGMENTATION:

1.Deforestation leads to isolation and fragmentation of forest.

EX: forest destruction in western ghats causes habitat loss and isolates elephants.

*OVEREXPLOITATION:

1.Consumeristic nature of humans leads to over exploitation of habitats.

2.Gandhiji’s quote on nature, “ There is a sufficiency in the world for man’s need but not for man’s greed “.

*ALIEN INVASIVE SPECIES:

1.It is any kind of living organism that is not native to an ecosystem and causes harm to the non native one.

2.It has no control agent but usually all species have some control agent.

EX: african gaint snail, parthenium ( congress grass)

*COEXTINCTIONS:

1.Symbiotic relationships leads to co-  extinctions.

EX: Animal and associated parasites.

LOSS OF BIODIVERSITY LEADS TO :

*Decline in productivity: variation in prodution leads to instability in successions.

*Less stability

*Variations in productive cycles
